Jane Ann Budd Ellithorpe, J.A.B.E, has continually educated herself through independent study. Originally trained in oils she made the transition to other mediums. Specializing in watercolor and ink renderings for more than 50 years, JABE is now implementing her work on the internet.
The daughter of an American officer stationed in England in World War II, Gerald Ernest Budd, and a British officer, Frances Eve (Shillitto) Budd, Jane was born in Chelmsford, Essex, England in 1944. She came to America with her parents when she was four years old. After living in Michigan and then Winston Salem North Carolina, Jane and her husband Chuck and their daughter Jennifer settled in Davidson, North Carolina in 1975. Chuck began his medical practice in nearby Huntersville, North Carolina and their Son Andy was born in October of that year, completing a family that has been integral to the community.
Continuing her lifelong love of art, JABE has received multiple community and national rewards for design. JABE now focusing on still life: homes, pets, gardens, flowers, etc. Her art is available on cards, coffee mugs, aprons as well as original painting.
